A battery is a device that stores electricity in a photovoltaic power generation system. At present, there are four types of lead-acid maintenance-free batteries, ordinary lead-acid batteries, gel batteries and alkaline nickel-cadmium batteries, and lead-acid maintenance-free batteries and gel batteries are widely used.
Working principle: During the daytime, sunlight shines on the photovoltaic modules to generate DC voltage, convert the light energy into electrical energy, and then transmit it to the controller. After the overcharge protection of the controller, the electricity from the photovoltaic modules is transported to the battery for storage, for use when needed.
- Voltage rating
When choosing a battery, it is important that the voltage rating matches the battery charger and off-grid inverter ratings. - Capacity
Note the capacity in Ah (amps/hour) - Efficiency
You want to choose the highest possible efficiency. If you don’t get a very efficient battery, you may have to make up for its inefficiency with larger solar panels. Therefore, the need for this feature is very simple. - Longevity
A good battery life is usually around 3-4 years. Anything below this value may put you at the disadvantage of incurring additional charges. Correct use of equipment is important.
